Yep! I'm back home! After nearly missing my greyhound yesterday due to the bus being packed, I finally arrived, barely avoiding being stranded in Vancouver proper. (The driver totally booked it over the Coquihalla.
Which was pretty sweet, considering I had less than an hour to cross Burrard Inlet before the transit shut down for the night. (A feat which is pretty much impossible on foot unless you REALLY know Vancouver and you're not carrying a fifty pound duffel bag on your back like I was or carrying an exposed $1500 laptop while desperately needing to pee) ... my spine hurts today. I can carry a lot of weight since I'm a backpacker, but only if I'm using a proper backpack, which I wasn't. I kind of hate duffel bags - they're heavy, awkward to carry and uncomfortable. Gimme a damn backpacking backpack any day. (Too bad I had too much bulky shit to use my pack.
I came home and then realized that a bunch of chocolate had gotten stuck in my laptop's powerport and USB port. What came next was an hour and a half of me desperately shoving a paring knife where it didn't belong to get out the chocolate, trying not to electrocute myself.
How the chocolate managed to melt into the two ports is beyond me - the laptop was OFF and thus wasn't creating heat. Maybe it was just my lap or something. Probably.
SO that's my random story for the day. This morning I got up stupidly early (well, stupidly early for somebody who was up until 2 am sticking a small knife into the side of her laptop) went to my first class and then went grocery shopping. After that I came home, cleaned my room a little (it desperately needed it) and unpacked my stuff. I'm now procrastinating about showering. Gotta save some calories and be lazy somewhere during the day right?
Anyway, as for the nausia part of my journal title, today I rediscovered exactly why I hate transit so much. So, I was drawing away on my extremely late more-like-New-Years-Christmas present for =Twilight-Realm-Child (which is finished but needs to be scanned!) and the bus was being, well, a bus. Probably partially due to my exhaustion created from dragging that gods-awful heavy ass duffel across Vancouver yesterday, today I started feeling kinda motion sick. By the time I got to my destination, my stomach was starting to have thoughts about its contents, but luckily I survived and didn't puke and Wren's picture looks pretty nice.
Now hopefully I'll stop procrastinating. Hoping to go to bed early tonight.
